At the west of the Rhône valley, Ardèche and the Cevennes are wonderful places for outdoor sports. About 1h30 from Valence, 2h30 from Saint-Etienne and Lyon, that granitic massif with its numerous rivers well-known for canyoning offers more opened streams. Crystalline water, cascades, suspended ponds and granitic slab… everything to make a magical place.
N.B., very close to Valence (about 20 minutes), the beautiful canyon of Turzon, wild and less known. For everyone!
As for the long canyon du Haut Chassezac, it deserves no less than the title of “most beautiful canyon in the Cévennes”. Stamina and abseil knowledge are mandatory for this one.

First time experience in canyon or aquatic wandering:
They are perfect for a first time, for children or in family. Theses rivers don't need a rope but it would be a shame not to try the different techniques of canyoning.
